The 50 KM Ultra is one of the highest and most extreme ultra marathons in the world. The course begins in the remote Umlingla top, the highest motorable road of the world at 5,799m and descend toward the the remote Koyul vilalge. Thin air, cold desert terrain, harsh winds, and world-record altitude make this a challenge attempted only by elite athletes.

All runners must report in Leh at least 10 days before race day.
No bibs will be issued after the scheduled distribution window.
No exceptions.
Runners must stay in Leh (3,500m) or nearby high altitude areas during the mandatory acclimatization period.
This is required to safely adapt before traveling to higher altitudes.
The Sarmang team and all runners will travel together from Leh to Koyul (4,200m).
The group will stay in Koyul for 2 days of high-altitude acclimatization.
Participation in the full acclimatization protocol is mandatory for:

Runners must clear each checkpoint before the cut-off to remain in the race.

All participants must submit a valid Medical Fitness Certificate signed by a certified medical practitioner. This certificate must clearly state that the runner is medically fit to participate in a high-altitude endurance race.
No certificate → No bib → No participation.
During the mandatory 10-day acclimatization phase in Leh, all runners must undergo an initial medical screening before receiving their bibs. This includes:

A second medical screening will be conducted at Koyul (Race Base) to ensure safe performance at extreme altitude. This includes:
Runners will be allowed to start the race only after receiving medical clearance.
Runners showing dangerous vital signs will be stopped for their safety.
