What This Event Is
- An extreme-altitude endurance challenge
- Conducted in a remote, high-risk environment
- Medical-authority driven, not performance-driven
- Designed for experienced, disciplined runners
What This Event Is NOT
- ❌ Not a leisure run or sightseeing experience
- ❌ Not suitable for first-time marathoners
- ❌ Not safe without proper acclimatization
- ❌ Not a race where finishing is guaranteed
Altitude Reality Check
At this altitude:
- Oxygen levels are critically low
- Judgment and coordination may be impaired
- Fitness does NOT protect against altitude illness
- Descent is the only definitive treatment
Mandatory Non-Negotiables
- Pre-Medical Certificate is compulsory
- Medical clearance at bib distribution is mandatory
- Acclimatization protocol must be followed strictly
- Bib distribution closes 10 days before race day
- No late arrivals. No exceptions.
Medical Authority & Withdrawals
The Event Medical Director has absolute authority to:
- Deny race start (DNS)
- Withdraw participants mid-race
- Mandate descent or evacuation
Medical decisions are final, non-appealable, and override all competitive goals.
Evacuation Reality
- Helicopter evacuation is NOT guaranteed
- Weather and military restrictions apply
- Ground evacuation may be delayed
- This is a remote, high-risk zone
